As a result, continuing the series reviewing movies and screenings during the lockdown period, our selection today is the latest Telugufilm Color Photo. The film starring Suhas and Chandni Chowdhury is available on AHA and let’s see how it goes.
Narrative:
Jayakrishna (Suhas) is a dark-skinned man who falls head over heels on Deepu (Chandini Chowdhury) but keeps his feelings to himself. As time goes on, a gang in his college beats him up and this problem brings the lamp closer to him. Slowly the friendship turns into love and this does not happen properly with Deepu's brother Ramaraju (Sunil). The rest of the story is how the couple reunites after facing many problems.
Plus Points:
With this film, Suhas becomes a full-fledged hero and does an amazing job. We all know he is a talented actor, but in the color photo, Suhas demonstrates his full potential. Despite its tone, expressions, and down-to-earth screen space, the young actor lives his role wonderfully. Suhas is a very talented actor and someone to look forward to in the years to come.
Chandni Chowdhury also does an excellent job. The film gives her a lot of scopes to perform and misses Chandni's opportunity on a large scale. The way she emoticons throughout the film and especially at the climax shows the acting prowess of the young actress. Sunil tries a different modulation in his negative role and is good.
Viva Harsha gets a very good role and completely shocks you with his acting. Sri Vidya, who played Sunil's wife, also acted very well. One of the biggest plus points of this film is undoubtedly the music director Kala Bhairava. His songs are amazing and have a haunting effect on you. His BGM is also impressive.
Minus Points:
The film is based on a simple love story and color discrimination and a serious conflict between the rich and the poor. Director Sandeep handles it nicely, but by the time the film reaches its pre-climax, things are so serious and passionate that it is not necessary. There are good scenes in this movie, but some of them were dragged out especially for the first part for no reason.
The reason for the heroine to fall for the heroine is not so strong and some more believable scenes may turn out to be good for the audience. The Love track was also great. The last part of the first half is slow and takes time to get into the breakpoint, which makes the film dull.
practical Aspects
As mentioned earlier, the music is a big highlight for this film. Editing is good and so is art direction. The camerawork is stunning and beautifully depicts the past. Art direction, costumes, and especially dialogues require special mention. Sai Rajesh production values are at the top.
Coming to director Sandeep Raj he will make a good debut. He has a good grip on emotions and manages this part well until the pre-climax. He also handled the basic essence of the love story well in the beginning, but could not catch it later. If he could have added more grip to the play and edited some scenes before the break and pre-climax, things would have been better.
Outcome:
All in all, Color Photo is a romantic drama, with stunning
performances by Suhas and Chandni Chowdhury. Solid music and good emotions are
basic plus points. But the overdramatic climax, the routine story, and the
slightly boring love story takes the film here and there. With the exception of
this, if you lower the expectations and look at this picture, you may like it.
